As-Salaamu Alaikum,

 

May Allah be with all of you.  I learned on Sunday afternoon the masjid needs volunteers and child care support staff to help with the children's activity portion of the program this coming Friday at Heim Road.  Inshallah, this will also be a once/month event featuring a guest speaker.  If there is someone who is interested in learning how to coordinate children's activities for future events, I am willing to be a coach to that person(s).  Please spread the word that there needs to be a team of people so the burden is not on one person.  Working alone is a sure way to volunteer burn out.

 

First, I would like to suggest flexible time for staff if someone is not able to be there the whole time.  For example, maybe someone can give only 1 hour then we can schedule that person accordingly.  The time frame will be from 5:00 p.m. (set up time) to 8:30 p.m. (clean up time).  This Friday's program is from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  

 

Although this is very short notice, let me know if you have a particular area of interest/focus and how you wish to be involved.  Centers (free choice activity areas) are from 6:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. to give children options.  Around 7:05 p.m. its time for an Islamic cartoon movie with popcorn.  Isha prayers are around 8:00 p.m. followed by dinner for everyone.  I will begin clean up around 7:45 p.m.
