Elderly Care Packages Donation Drive

Elderly Care Packages Don...

BUFFALO, NY - June 16, 2022: WNYMuslims has partnered with Delavan Grider Community Center, Metro CDC for the Care Packages Donation Drive, for the elderly residents of Buffalo, NY (Jefferson Neighborhood). It’s a collaborative initiative taken by both organizations for the elderly residing in the 14208 neighborhoods, who used to depend on the Tops Supermarket, Jefferson for their groceries and basic needs, which is temporarily closed because of the recent tragedy that shook all of us.

“It is another example of our membership coming together for an important cause: ensuring the comfort and needs of the local senior community members as WNYMuslims believes in creating awareness, encouraging diversity, and providing service.” Faizan Haq, President WNYMuslims.

Both teams along with their volunteers conducted the door-to-door care packages distribution at the senior citizen residences of the area. “We tried our best to fulfill the need for the basic grocery items of the seniors residing in the Jefferson neighborhood keeping in mind their comfort and covenience. We highly appreciate the efforts and collaboration of Ms. Candace Moppins, Executive Director Metro Community Development Corporation, which enabled us to accomplish our goal.” Farina Mirza, Executive Director, WNYMuslims.

We are pleased as always our community embraced this donation drive as well and offered their volunteering services and contributed with their monetary support, which made the fulfillment of the task much easier for us.

We highly appreciate and are extremely grateful to Metro CDC and our volunteers, who contributed to our efforts, without their help, we wouldn’t be able to accomplish our goal and we hope we’ll get the same response in the future as well.
