BUFFALO, NY: On Sunday, December 10, one more time, a significant collaborative effort unfolded as WNYMuslims & Desi Varsa partnered with Imran Khan Cancer Appeal to orchestrate, a Fundraising Gala Dinner – 2023, Buffalo NY, for Shaukat Khanam Memorial Cancer Hospital Pakistan at the Marriott Buffalo Niagara.
Shaukat Khanum Hospital stands as a beacon of hope for underprivileged cancer patients, offering free-of-charge treatment. Founded with the vision of making cancer care accessible to every Pakistani in need, the hospital's mission is to serve as a model institution, applying modern curative and palliative therapies regardless of patients' financial means.
The event kicked off with an introduction by Farina Mirza, Executive Director of WNYMuslims & Desi Varsa, succeeded by an address from Prof. Faizan Haq, Founding President of WNYMuslims & Desi Varsa. Subsequently, Dr. Faisal Sultan, the Chief Executive Officer of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, delivered informative presentations. Attendees, moved by the occasion, shared heartfelt testimonials, setting the stage for the fundraising segment. Substantial funds were raised through pledges, live donations, and the auction of valuable items.
The evening reached a captivating zenith with a Qawali performance by Asif Ali Santoo Qawaal & Company, renowned creators of Sufi music and among the finest Qawwali performers in Pakistan. This enchanting presentation began after a delightful dinner, injecting a lively and vibrant energy into the gala.
